Expert Talk N°3: Ségolène, nursery nurse
Can you introduce yourself: your first name, your profession?
I'm Ségolène Gendot, a childcare nurse. I support mothers-to-be and new mothers, as well as families, in their parenthood.
I offer baby massage and motor skills workshops. I also offer treatments dedicated to women, both during pregnancy and postpartum.
Can you tell us about the benefits of baby massage?
Baby massage is a wonderful tool for supporting a child's development. It provides motor stimulation, but also a great deal of soothing. It also supports the parent-child bond and soothes little everyday aches and pains, such as colic, teething pains and various tensions.
When to start baby massage?
There are several ways to massage your baby. It's very beneficial to start massaging your child at a very early age, as it helps to establish this tool for the rest of his or her life.
What do you recommend for baby massage?
When massaging your baby, we really recommend using organic oils. A child's skin is not mature until the age of 3. It is then very porous, and will therefore absorb much more easily and intensively anything that could be an endocrine disrupter, especially those found today in many cosmetic products, even those specifically dedicated to children.
At Amour Tempête, we recommend using the Baby Oil for massages. It's the perfect product to accompany women through every stage of motherhood.
Made from 4 high-quality organic plant oils, this 100% natural oil nourishes, softens and protects the delicate skin of babies from birth. It helps skin regain its suppleness and elasticity. Thanks to its fine, non-sticky texture, it is perfectly suited to massage.
It is also compatible for use during pregnancy (prevention & care of stretch marks, massages) and breastfeeding.
